The Asbury Park Santa Run to Support Lunch Break

The Santa Run is coming to town! Peak Projects, the company behind the hugely successful Run The Hook 5K/10K in Sandy Hook, NJ, are pleased to announce the first inaugural Asbury Park Santa Run, taking place on December 10, 2016.

The race challenges runners and walkers of all abilities to complete a 5K course in support of local charity, Lunch Break, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing food, clothing, and fellowship to local community members in need. All runners will be given their very own Santa suit at registration and will run a closed course on the streets of Asbury Park. Keeping with the spirit of giving during the holidays, a portion of the proceeds from the race will go directly to the charity and there will also be a food drive and toy drive for local families in need. After the race, there will be an after party right across from the finish line at Wonder Bar for runners ages 21 and over featuring live music from local favorites Jukebox Criminals, plus drink specials and food.

Registration for the event is now open, with a limited amount of Early Bird priced tickets available. Following registration, runners have the ability to fundraise for the event via EverydayHero – with a challenge to raise $300 per runner and an overall goal of $100,000. 100% of all fundraising efforts will go towards Lunch Break.

Speaking about the event, Peak Projects co-founder, Joey Garofalo of Little Silver noted, “We’re incredibly excited to support such a respected and impactful charity like Lunch Break with this event. We hope the local community will share the same sentiment and join us for what is going to be a very fun afternoon for everyone involved.”

Gwendolyn O. Love, Executive Director of Lunch Break said, “This is so exciting! A Santa run, family fun event. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the crisp healthy air and kick off the holidays in Asbury Park all while helping our neighbors in need who come to Lunch Break every day from every town in Monmouth County. We are so grateful too, to Peak Projects for this wonderful opportunity.”
